HARMONIA - DOCUMENTS 1975 (GRÖNLAND RECORDS CDGRON152, CD ALBUM, 2016) (FLAC / MP3 320)

DISFRUTAD !!!!

  2. You just have to listen to these four tracks (we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Asmus Tietchens for archiving the two live tracks) to understand this was the real sound of the future in 1975 (along with artists like Throbbing Gristle) - Light years beyond the explosion of punk (with notable exceptions like Suicide, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire and This Heat) - which was just about to break in 1975 with artists like Patti Smith, Ramones and Television - as important as the proto-punk/punk bands were to me as a teenager and to the development of music in general, you realise that the German sound of Cluster/Kluster/Harmonia and Conrad Schnitzler in the seventies made punk sound positively archaic (or simply part of the existing continuum of blues/r'n'b/rock'n'roll) and certainly not a break from the past as it is portrayed in the cultural histories written by music journalists and cultural studies academics.

I can't thank you enough for bringing this to my attention and sharing it in FLAC!
